A Village building confident learners

DAYTIME HOME LEARNING COMMUNITY IN NORTH SPOKANE

Where families learn, play, and grow together

In our Village, children take part in hands-on projects, seasonal activities, music, and group fun while parents stay involved and support learning. Together, we build skills and lasting friendships.

Our classes meet Monday through Wednesday during the school year at a North Spokane location, from 9:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Flexible days and options are available to fit your family’s needs.

The Village Difference

A TRUE COOPERATIVE COMMUNITY

Our Village is built by families, not just attended by them. Everyone shares their strengths to help our programs run smoothly.

PERSONALIZED, SMALL-GROUP LEARNING

With 3–10 students per class, children get personal attention while exploring subjects chosen based on the group’s requests.

MUSIC EXPLORATION FOR AGES 6+

Our music classes are designed for students to find joy and growth, not on producing professional musicians.

“I have been a parent at Village for 4 years, which is honestly wild to think about! I have been teaching in one way or another the entire time. I laugh thinking about how under qualified I initially felt, and how much Lacey and others believed in me. This allowed me to grow into the person and teacher I am now. ... What I love most about Village both as a parent and teacher is that the classes offered are truly dependent on not only the needs of the families but the interests of the students!”

MUSIC & ORCHESTRA

Music plays a big role in our community, though participation is optional and no experience is needed. Miss Lacey, our music director, helps each student choose an instrument and start at the right level. Students may move levels each session based on their progress, attendance, and dedication to practicing at home.

  • We offer group instruction in orchestra for violin, viola, cello, bass, and classical/finger-pick guitar. We also have a bells class and a choir class.

Private lessons may be available but limited.

FIELD TRIPS & PARTIES

Our Village is full of fun learning beyond the classroom. Field trips give students exciting experiences and quarterly parties bring everyone together. Participants pitch in to help, and we often share a potluck meal to make the day even more special.

  • Throughout the years, we've paused classes for:

    • apple cider pressing

    • swimming

    • animal education

    • community fair/market

    • crafts

    • group games and friendly competition

It truly takes a Village of families supporting families
